But there is more to be said for being the one to raise your children, be available when they need you and create a home environment that hopefully brings your children into adulthood as secure and productive members of the human race.
Whatever I was doing there was an opportunity to create a job for my boys. The tax situation makes it very attractive for parents to hire their kids. You create a fair salary structure for what they do for you and you’ve got multiple benefits. You have a part time employee with a very flexible schedule on call. Your child has the opportunity to earn their spending money and learn about the real world as they grow up.
The really good news about all of this is - - - Mom or Dad or Significant Other can be the one working from a home base – it really doesn’t matter. This is just all easier if there is one dependable J – O – B in the mix. A dependable job provides the guaranteed income, medical and dental benefits and a retirement base. If that is present you have a few more options.
Basically I took a talent for sewing that manifested when I was very young and turned that into a very successful home based service business. By keeping my options open I watched that early success continue with a hard and soft window covering sales business – with a sideline into gambling trips for entertainment.
That led me to being in the right place at the right time when someone needed dealers for a casino party and from that came The Fantasy Casino Dealer Service. From the associations built through those events I was able to provide dealers for an event company who had the equipment, but no dealers for an event they were doing for a Client.
There really wasn’t that much difference between the two – a party is a party and there are certain things you need to make decisions on – in the beginning, while you’re planning, and just prior to the event.
Knowing what those decisions are and when to make them and what to base the decisions on is what makes the difference between a successful event and a mediocre event.
